Martha Banta


Martha Banta’s NYC productions include new work at The Public Theater, Rattlestick, EST, New York Theater Workshop, New Georges, Lambs Theater, Clark Theater/Lincoln Center, Urban Stages. Regional: Portland Center Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse, Pittsburgh Public Theater, St. Louis Rep, Westport Playhouse, Merrimack Rep, Capital Rep., Vineyard Arts, Berkshire Theater Festival. She’s the founding artistic director for the first 13 seasons of the Adirondack Theater Festival in Glens Falls, NY. Martha served many years as Artistic Associate at New York Theater Workshop. She was the Resident director for the original production of RENT, and directed RENT in Germany and Japan, as well as
supervised London, Broadway and tour productions. In addition she was the Associate Director for MAMMA MIA! on Broadway and the
National tour. Martha is thrilled to be working with Lori Fischer again for a 3 rd time on a new work, and for the 1 st time with Theatre East.
