ABOUT

The 5X5 Drama Series was founded in 2016 to bring great new plays beyond the footlights and into nontraditional spaces like breweries, rooftops, and taverns to provide an immersive and unique audience experience. The series consists of 5 short plays with 5 casts and in the past has been performed in all 5 boroughs. And then we entered quarantine due to COVID-19. So what did we decide to do? Commission 5 plays to be written specifically for a remote medium. This is definitely a new and nontraditional venue for us. Fulfilling one of our core beliefs to make theatre more accessible to all, 5X5 brings the stage directly to the people in the spaces where they gather, learn, and relax. Best of all, tickets are available on a suggested donation basis only and they're less than 15 minutes each.

In the past, 5X5 has been sponsored by generous hosts where performances have taken place. Because of COVID-19, we're unable to traipse across New York City, yet we still wanted to promote local businesses. Below are businesses from each borough that have been helping their communities during this time. We encourage you to visit them, buy from them, support them.

You can still see the shows that were performed LIVE via Facebook. Just click on a link below.
