JULIA RAE MALDONADO

Julia Rae Maldonado is a Bronx based playwright and actor from San Antonio, Texas. She is a 2020 LAByrinth Theatre Ensemble Intensive member and a founding member of TheatreEast’s Writers Room. Notable productions include BLACKSHEEP (ASDS Rep), WIMBERLEY (Midtown International Theatre Festival, FreshFruit Festival), EGGS (MUT! Theatre, Hamburg & The Interkultural Festival, Stuttgart) WE THREE & most recently KARULA’S DREAM SHOW LIVE (TheatreEast). She is also the author of a collection of short plays for teenage actors that have been produced by the Stella Adler Studio and has also developed work with The Actors Studio and INTAR. Her play BUSKERS! was a Finalist for the Heideman Award National 10-Minute Play Contest (Actors Theatre Louisville). Her short play REAL LIFE is included in Gary Garrison’s “A (More) Perfect 10 & A Younger 10”. BFA – NYU Tisch, MFA – Actor’s Studio Drama School.
